BDG Win App Without an APK: Add to Desktop

Updated 8 October 2026 · 6 minute read

BDG Win’s home page shows an “Add to Desktop” prompt. It offers a shortcut to the web page, not an app file. This page explains the prompt, why your browser’s own menu is the route you control, how to add the icon in Chrome, Samsung Internet or Safari, and how to remove it.

Worked example, not your link. The checker was run on a made-up address. Paste your own link above, or tap an example, and this is replaced by the result for that link.

The made-up address https://bdgwin.example.com/login scores Medium (30 of 100 points) with 1 warning sign: Uses the platform’s name, but not its address. Medium means 25 to 59 points. Do not enter any details until you have confirmed, by another route, where the link came from.

Read the address before you save a shortcut. The checker above shows why. Its made-up address puts BDG Win’s name in front of another site, and it scores Medium. An icon makes a page feel familiar, so a look-alike you save feels familiar too.

What the “Add to Desktop” prompt is

At the time of writing (8 October 2026), BDG Win’s home page showed an “Add to Desktop” prompt and also asked to send notifications. The prompt is for a shortcut to the web page. It is not an app file, and you download nothing. “Desktop” is a computer word, and on a phone the matching place is the home screen. We did not tap the prompt, so we cannot say what appears next.

There are three ways to get the icon.

WayWho words the boxOur view
Tap the page’s own promptThe pageA page can word its banner as it likes, and we did not test it. A box from your browser should follow. Read that box before you confirm
Use your browser’s menuYour browserThe wording and the box are your browser’s. The table further down follows this route
Bookmark the page insteadYour browserNo icon, but nothing extra to confirm. Useful when your menu has no home-screen option

Which box is yours?

A page can draw anything inside its own area, including a banner dressed up like a phone setting. The box that matters is the one your browser draws. It comes from the browser, not from the page, and it offers Cancel beside Add or Install. If you cannot tell whose box you are looking at, close it and use the browser’s menu, where the wording is the browser’s for certain.

Check the address first

A shortcut keeps whatever address you are on, look-alikes included, and puts it one tap away.

  1. Read the site name in the address bar. It is the stretch of text before the first single slash, and everything after the slash is only a path inside that site.
  2. If a message, an advert or a video sent you here, paste the link into the checker above first.
  3. To reach the platform’s page without trusting a forwarded link, read BDG Win link.

No home-screen option in your menu? A page opened from inside a chat app, or any other app’s own browser, gets a cut-down menu. Open the same page in Chrome, Samsung Internet or Safari, and read its address once more.

Add it from your browser

BrowserSteps
Chrome on AndroidTap the three dots at the top right. Pick Add to Home screen. Newer versions say Install app or Install and create shortcut, as in Google’s Chrome help. Check the name, then tap Add or Install. Drop the icon where you like, or choose Add automatically
Samsung InternetTap the menu button, the three lines at the bottom right. Tap Add page to, then Home screen. Rename it if you wish and tap Add
Safari on iPhoneTap the Share button, which on recent iOS may sit inside the page menu. Tap Add to Home Screen. If it is missing, scroll down, tap Edit Actions and add it. Leave Open as Web App on if you want the page to fill the screen, or off for an ordinary Safari tab, then tap Add. Apple’s page on websites as apps covers it

Wording shifts from one version to the next, so match by meaning if you cannot find the exact words.

Allow notifications? That is a separate question

The page asked to send notifications. That permission comes from your browser, and it is separate from the shortcut: you can add the icon and still choose Block. If you allowed it and regret it, Chrome on Android lets you change the answer. Tap the three dots, then Settings, Site settings and Notifications, find the site in the list and block it. Google’s help on notifications shows the same path. The permissions guide explains why a web page’s requests are fewer than an app file’s.

What to expect afterwards

Tap the icon and the web page opens. Some phones show it full-screen like an app, and others use an ordinary browser tab. That depends on your phone and the site, and we cannot predict it. Because the page loads over the internet every time, nothing needs updating and there is no version to pick.

If the platform ever changes its address, an old shortcut keeps pointing at the old one. When it stops opening, remove it and add the page again from an address you have checked. If that does not help, try page not opening.

A shortcut cannot upgrade anything, mend a sign-in problem or vouch for the page it points to. Whatever the address leads to is what you get.

Removing it, and signing out first

PhoneHow to remove the icon
AndroidLong-press the icon and choose Remove, or Uninstall if that is what the menu offers. Chrome sometimes saves a page as a web app, which then also appears under Settings, then Apps
iPhonePress and hold the icon, choose the option that takes it off the Home Screen, and confirm. The wording changes with the iOS version

Taking the icon off does not sign you out of anything. On a phone that other people use, sign out inside the page first, and leave the Remember password option on the login screen switched off.

If you want a file after all, begin with the five checks and see where download files come from. On an iPhone the picture is different, and BDG Win on iPhone explains why.

Common questions

Should I tap the “Add to Desktop” prompt on BDG Win’s page?

We did not tap it, so we cannot say what your phone will show next. You can skip it and use your browser’s own menu, which you control. Either way, read the address bar first, and confirm only if the box that appears comes from your browser.

What does “Add to Desktop” mean on a phone?

Desktop is a computer word. On a phone, the matching place is the home screen. The prompt offers to save a shortcut to the web page there. You download no app file, and the page is still the same web page when you open it from the icon.

Should I allow notifications when BDG Win’s page asks?

That is your choice, and the shortcut works either way. We cannot see what the platform would send you. You can answer Block now and change your mind later in your browser’s site settings.

Will the BDG Win shortcut give me the latest version?

It opens the web page as the site serves it that day, so there is nothing to update and no version to choose. If the site changes its screens, you see the change. If the shortcut stops opening, remove it and add the page again from an address you have checked.

Can I add BDG Win to an iPhone Home Screen?

Yes, from Safari’s Share menu, as with any website. We did not try it with this page. Read the address first. You need no profile, certificate or extra app for this, and a page that says you do is not using the feature.

Does deleting the BDG Win icon sign me out?

No. The icon is only a shortcut. Sign out inside the page before you remove it, particularly on a phone that other people use.
