Phone Number Checker: Is It Typed Right?

Updated 8 October 2026 · 5 minute read

Paste a number the way you wrote it. The checker removes a +91, 91 or 0 in front, counts what is left and says whether it fits the ten-digit format of an Indian mobile number, then names the likely slip if it does not.

Tool · runs in your browserNothing is uploaded

A +91, 91 or 0 in front, spaces and dashes are all fine. The number in the box is made up. Nothing you type leaves this page or is saved, and there is no copy-link button here because a link would carry your number.

Try an example:
Fitsthe Indian mobile format
+91 70198 36425written in full
7019836425to type where +91 India is already selected
+91in front of the number, as you wrote it
Unknownwhether it is switched on, or whose it is

This fits the format of an Indian mobile number. It reads as +91 70198 36425. That says the shape is right and nothing more: a number that fits the format can be switched off, unused or someone else’s, and nothing here can say which.

If the code (OTP) did not arrive

General checks for a text that does not come, in a sensible order. They apply to any service that sends a code by SMS and say nothing about any platform. Tick each one as you do it.

  1. The number fits the format. The box above works this out. Where +91 India is already selected, type only the ten digits: no second +91, no 0 in front.
  2. You waited a minute or two. A busy network can delay a text. Many services cancel the old code when you ask for a new one, so tapping Send again and again can leave you with a dead code. How long any platform keeps a code is not something we can see.
  3. The phone has signal and the right line is on. Bars showing, airplane mode off. On a phone with two SIMs, the text goes to the line that owns the number you typed.
  4. Do Not Disturb, Focus mode and spam blockers are not hiding texts. Switch them off for a minute, or open the blocked list of any spam-blocking app. If you signed the number up for your mobile operator’s Do Not Disturb service, the operator can tell you what it stops.
  5. You looked in Spam, Blocked and Unknown Senders. Open the messages app itself rather than waiting for an alert, and search for the word code.
  6. The phone is not nearly full. A full inbox cannot save a new text. Free some space under Settings, then Storage.
  7. You turned airplane mode on and off, or restarted. This makes the phone rebuild its connection to the network.
  8. Date and time are set to automatic. A wrong clock can scramble the order of your messages, so a new code can sit far down the list.
  9. You asked once more and used the newest code. Type the code from the newest text straight away. Still nothing after two tries? Ask the platform’s customer service from inside its own page, never through a number or link from a search result or a chat.

Where this fits on BDG Win’s forms

At the time of writing (8 October 2026), BDG Win’s register screen has a phone field with +91 India already selected. The login screen takes a phone number or an email, with +91 India first in its list of country codes. Both screens point the same way: the number you register with is likely the one you will type to log in.

On that date the register form had no box for an SMS verification code. A code step would at least show that a number can receive a text. Without one, nothing on the form checks your digits, and we cannot see what the platform does after you press Register. A slip then stays hidden until the day you try to log in. So check the ten digits first. The register guide goes through the whole form.

What to type where +91 is already shown

Here is one invented number, 70198 36425, written in five ways people commonly write it. Where a box already shows +91 India, you type only the ten digits.

As you might write itWhat the checker doesType this
+91 70198 36425Fits. +91 is India’s country code.7019836425
07019836425Fits. The 0 in front is a dialling prefix and is dropped.7019836425
0091 70198 36425Fits. 00 is the international prefix, then 91.7019836425
+91 91 70198 36425Fits. The country code is typed twice, and once is enough.7019836425
70198-36425Fits. The dash is ignored.7019836425

Every number on this page is invented. If one happens to be someone’s, that is chance.

The slips it names

Four slips make a number fail. The examples below are what the checker actually prints.

  • A digit typed twice. “70198 336425” has 11 digits. The checker offers two numbers that would fit: 70198 36425, with one of the doubled 3s removed, and 70198 33642, in case the last digit is a stray. The doubled digit comes first in its list, as the likeliest slip.
  • A digit missing. “70198 3642” has 9 digits. The checker reports one missing digit and makes no guess, because nothing in the text shows where the gap is.
  • A wrong first digit. “50198 36425” has ten digits but starts with 5, and Indian mobile numbers start with 6, 7, 8 or 9.
  • A letter in place of a digit. “7O198 36425” has the letter O where the 0 belongs, and the checker suggests 70198 36425.

Treat a suggested fix as a lead, not a correction, and compare it with wherever you got the number.

What it ignores, and what it refuses

The checker reads digits and sets the rest aside. Spaces, dashes and brackets are skipped. So are words around the number, such as a name or “call”, and the checker lists them. Digits typed in Hindi or another Indian script are read as ordinary digits. Two numbers pasted together are refused with a plain message to check one at a time. A number that starts with + or 00 and is not followed by 91 is not read at all, because other countries follow other rules. The checking runs in your browser. The number is not sent, saved or put into a link.

If a text with a code does not arrive

Under the checker sits a nine-point list for any text with a code, such as one from your bank or a UPI app. The first point, that the number fits, is filled in for you by the checker. The other eight you tick yourself, in this order: wait, signal and SIM, Do Not Disturb, Spam and Blocked folders, free space, airplane mode, date and time, then ask once more and use the newest code. Nothing in the list refers to any platform.

A code sent to your phone is for you alone. If an “agent”, a channel admin or anyone who contacted you first asks you to read one out, stop. The scam message checker marks the habits of a message that asks for one. 1930 is the national cyber-fraud helpline, and reports go to cybercrime.gov.in. Call your bank straight away to block a card or UPI ID. After a scam lists the steps in order.

What it cannot tell you

A number that fits proves only that its shape is correct. It does not prove the line is on, that you own the number, or that a text would reach it. Nor can it say whose number a “customer care” line is: the customer care page explains what we saw of the support icon. If a fitting number still does not get you in, the login troubleshooter walks you through a few short questions. The tools page has the rest.

Common questions

Which number goes in the phone box when +91 India is already selected?

Only the ten digits. At the time of writing (8 October 2026) the register screen we saw had +91 India selected in its phone field, and the login screen lists +91 India first. Type the ten digits with no +91, no 91 and no 0 in front. The tile labelled “to type where +91 India is already selected” gives the digits to use.

Can I paste two numbers into the box at once?

No. The checker reads one number at a time. If it finds two groups of digits split by a comma, a bar, a new line or the word and, it says the text looks like more than one number and asks you to check them one by one. Paste each number on its own.

What if someone asks me to read out a code that arrived on my phone?

Do not read it out. A code sent to your phone is for you alone, and anyone who asks for it, whether an agent, a channel admin or a friend of a friend, is asking for access. If you have already shared one, call your bank straight away to block cards and UPI IDs, call 1930, and report it at cybercrime.gov.in.

Can the checker tell me whether a customer care number belongs to BDG Win?

No. It sees digits and nothing else. It knows two short numbers, 1930 and 14416, and calls a number that starts 1800 a toll-free style. For every other number it can describe the shape but not the owner. Treat a number from a chat, an ad or a search result as unknown.

The checker says my number fits but I still cannot log in. Why?

Fitting is a test of shape, not of truth. Swap one digit for another and you still have ten digits that fit. Compare the digits with where you saved the number. The login screen says to contact customer service about a forgotten password, and we cannot see what else it can do.

Does the checker read a number typed in Hindi digits?

Yes. It reads digits in Hindi and other Indian scripts as ordinary digits, so ७०१९८ ३६४२५ reads as 70198 36425. The number is worked out inside your browser. It is not sent, stored or put into a link, which is why there is no copy-link button, and a made-up number tests the format just as well as your own.
